Under the Delta State Rural Development Network (DSRDN) grant period of 2007-2010, Arkansas became a multi-service region which consists of 29 Delta counties. The Arkansas Delta Region A consists of 19 counties which include: Arkansas, Ashley, Bradley, Calhoun, Cleveland, Chicot, Dallas, Desha, Drew, Grant, Jefferson, Lee, Lincoln, Monroe, Phillips, Ouachita, St. Francis, and Union. The Arkansas Delta Region B consists of 20 counties which include: Baxter, Clay, Cross, Fulton, Greene, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Lawrence, Marion, Mississippi, Poinsett, Prairie, Randolph, Searcy, Sharp, Stone, Van Buren, White, Woodruff.
The Arkansas Delta Rural Development Network (ADRDN) serves the Region A area consisting of 19 counties in the Arkansas Mississippi River Delta.
ADRDN is comprised of four partners - the Mid-Delta Community Consortium (MDCC), the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH), the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), and the Community Health Centers of Arkansas, Inc. (CHCA), with MDCC serving as the lead agent.
The ADRDN goal is to improve the health and healthcare of Delta residents by facilitating the development of local rural health networks in Region A.
Specific ADRDN objectives are to 1) provide technical assistance to Delta communities to maintain and expand local rural health networks, 2) develop and implement a process by which local networks can obtain funding from the HRSA Office of Rural Health Policy to support their activities, and 3) provide ongoing technical assistance to support the further development and sustainability of local health networks.
The Delta Hills Community Consortium Network (DHCC) serves the Region B area consisting of 20 Counties in the Arkansas Mississippi River Delta.
DHCC is comprised of three partners – the Delta Hills Rural Health Network lead by Health Resources of Arkansas, Inc. (HRA), the Community Health Centers of Arkansas, Inc. (CHCA), and Arkansas Department of Health – Hometown Health Initiative Branch (ADH – HHIB), with HRA serving as the lead agent.
The DHCC goal is to be strengthening and expanding the local rural health networks in Region B.
Specific DHCC objectives are to 1) provide continual technical assistance, training, and resources to aid in developing existing and expanded local rural health networks, 2) monitor and evaluate the work performed by local networks; and 3) develop and implement a process by which local networks can secure funding from the US Office of Rural Health Policy, as well as form other local, state, and national sources, to help sustain these activities.
