CHCs, through one time funding from the Attorney
General’s Office, was enabled to develop and implement
a "Healthy Lifestyles" campaign at the local level.
CHCA developed materials to be used statewide, including a
30- second spot for television and radio, and written materials
(posters, and self-management educational materials). Each
Community Health Center developed a healthy lifestyles approach
for their local areas dealing with a particular health issue
such as, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, depression, etc.
Funding was also used to off-set the costs for pharmaceuticals
for local patients of the centers.
The CHCs and CHCA are working to continue and expand the "Healthy
Lifestyles" campaign.
