Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan Available August 1, 2010 for Eligible Arkansans

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced today the establishment of a new Pre-existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP) that will offer coverage to uninsured Americans who have been unable to obtain health coverage because of a pre-existing health condition. On August 1, eligible residents of Arkansas will be able to apply for coverage through the state’s Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan program run by the Arkansas Comprehensive Health Insurance Pool.
