Policy Briefs Examine the Challenge of Health Center Growth and Medicaid’s Role in Strengthening Health Center Capacity

Two new policy research briefs analyze the growth of health centers over the past two decades and Medicaid’s role in propelling and sustaining that growth. The analyses chronicle bipartisan federal health center growth initiatives and document the relationship between more expansive Medicaid coverage policies for low income adults and more robust health center size, staffing, and patient care capacity.

Arkansas Medicaid Meaningful Use Program Dates Announced

The Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Medical Services, has announced the date that health care providers can register to receive Medicaid incentive funds for converting to an electronic health record system; the date that those providers can attest to adopting, implementing or updgrading their EHR; and the date that funds will become available.

Registration Now Open for the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs and Medicaid Payments Have Already Been Issued by Two States!

Yesterday, the first payments under the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program were issued by Oklahoma and Kentucky. Kentucky processed payment to the University of Kentucky‘s teaching hospital, University of Kentucky Healthcare. The first payment, $2.86 million, was one-third of the hospital’s overall expected amount for participating in the program. Oklahoma issued payments to two physicians at the Gastorf Family Clinic of Durant, OK, for $21,250 each, for having adopted certified electronic health records (EHRs).
