Arkansas to Participate in National Prescription Drug "Take-Back" Campaign

On Saturday, September 25, Arkansas will participate in a nationwide prescription drug “take-back” event. This is a perfect opportunity to get rid of all your unwanted pills or other medications—both prescription and those you bought over-the-counter.

Over 120 collection sites are currently planned, with more being added every day. Federal, state, or local law enforcement officers will be on hand at each site to ensure that all pills are collected and destroyed in a safe, legal and environmentally friendly manner.

Your participation in this event will help reduce the supply of prescription drugs available to those who might otherwise try to steal, abuse or sell them.

It will also help prevent these drugs from ever being flushed down the toilet and damaging our water supply. Most importantly, it will keep them out of the hands of our children, grandchildren and teens.

Are you tired of your medicine cabinet being cluttered with old, half-full pill bottles you no longer need? Is your pill drawer so full that it won’t open? Do you want to properly dispose of your old drugs but aren’t sure what to do with them? Bring your pills to a collection site on September 25th and they will be disposed of in a secure and safe manner.
