National Association of Community Health Centers Names CHCA CEO Sip Mouden To Its Board of Directors

The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) has named Mrs. Sip Mouden, CEO of Community Health Centers of Arkansas, Inc., the Arkansas Primary Care Association which represents 12 federally qualified health centers and their 73 health center locations, to serve as the Region VI Representative to the NACHC Board of Directors.  Mrs. Mouden who will be seated October 1, 2011, will serve a two year term. She is replacing David Roddy, CEO of New Mexico Primary Care Association, who will be leaving the Board on 9/30/11.  Region VI includes New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas.

Mrs. Mouden, who became the CEO of CHCA in January of 2001, joined NACHC in 1992 as an Individual Member.  The Community Health Centers of Arkansas (CHCA) is a NACHC Chartered Regional Affiliate.  Mrs. Mouden has actively represented the Arkansas CHCs on several NACHC Committees over the last 10 years.

  • Rural Health Committee, 2003-present, current Chair;  and served as Vice-Chair 2007-2009
  • Subcommittee on Elderly Issues, 2002-2006

Mrs. Mouden has served as the NACHC State Legislative Coordinator for Arkansas since 2003, and also serves on the Pay for Performance/Medical Home Workgroup.  She also served on the NACHC-Primary Care Association Steering Committee from 2003-2007.  Mrs. Mouden was inducted into NACHC’s Grassroots Advocacy Hall of Fame in 2010 and was awarded the Arkansas Rural Advocate of the Year in 2008 by the Arkansas Rural Development Commission and Arkansas Department of Rural Services.

Mrs. Mouden also holds membership in the state and local Chambers of Commerce, MGMA, the Arkansas Society of Association Executives and Arkansas Professional Lobbyist Association. As CEO of Community Health Centers of Arkansas and in prior positions, Mrs. Mouden has over 30 years experience in health care and social services administration in state government, the private sector, and the insurance industry; primary and multi-specialty medical group practice management experience; acute/sub-acute, and out-patient rehabilitation management experience; as well as staffing and managing emergency departments and primary care clinics within hospitals, major medical centers, clinics, and within navy and air force hospitals and ambulatory clinics. 

The CHCA Board of Directors passed a signed Board Resolution in support of Mrs. Mouden’s candidacy and are pleased that she, as Region VI Representative, will represent Arkansas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas on the National Association of Community Health Centers Board of Directors.
