Access For All Arkansans
CHCA developed the original Access for All Arkansans plan in March 2009. In October 2009, CHCA updated to the original Access Plan which outlines the progress CHCs have made towards achieving the goals of the plan. At the core of the Plan are the preservation, strengthening, and expansion of CHCs to address the issues of unmet need and access to quality primary and preventive health care across Arkansas. The Plan currently projects by 2015 that over 120,000 new patients will have access to affordable comprehensive primary and preventive health care. The proposed number of patients to be seen is a 101% increase from the baseline number of patients seen, as noted in the Community Health Centers reported 2007 Uniform Data Set. . Critical areas addressed in the Plan include capital resources, operational resources, quality, workforce and policy/legislation. As part of the Access Plan, 14 of the 24 “Highest Need” counties are identified as areas which need a health center.
