Community & Network Development

CHCA’s community development efforts center on increasing access to healthcare through the creation of new FQHCs and the expansion of existing health centers in the state with the highest need.  CHCAs assistance and activities include:

  • Meeting with community members, stakeholders, and interested organizations or groups
  • Providing information and answering questions about the CHC model
  • Documenting  the unmet needs in communities
  • Linking communities to information or technical assistance resources, i.e., grant writers and consultant firms with expertise in needs assessment, market analysis, and feasibility studies.
  • Providing technical assistance and guidance on CHC related grant applications
  • Working to secure “Planning Grant” funding for high need communities interested in the CHC model (as available)
  • Development and update of the Statewide Strategic Plan (SSP) – a database of long-term statewide CHC growth plans.
  • Development of “Access for All Arkansans Plan” designed to present a plan for strengthening, preserving and growing the CHC model of care throughout Arkansas.
  • Provision of TA/training for the Health Resources Service Administration (HRSA) Delta Network Grantees which are comprised of Regions A & B in the Arkansas Delta
