LaShannon Spencer

Chief Executive Officer

LaShannon Spencer arrived at CHCA in 2016 with significant experience in hospital and healthcare leadership positions working with clinicians, physicians and hospital staff, as well as community stakeholders. As Chief Strategist with KLS Health Solutions, LLC, a healthcare consulting firm, she managed multiple strategic projects, programs and initiatives for hospitals, health systems, and Accountable Care Organizations within strategic partnerships to leverage revenue generation, cost reduction, re-admissions and care coordination opportunities in markets across the nation to strengthen financial efficiency and productivity.

Spencer earned her B.S. in Mass Communications from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, her M.P.A. (Master’s in Public Administration) from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and an M.H.S.A. (Master’s in Health Services Administration) from University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. She has completed her required doctoral course work from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas School of Community Health Sciences.

Her wealth of healthcare knowledge is a great benefit to CHCA in her many interactions with stakeholders on a regular basis. Her experience includes hospital operations, public policy, advocacy, patient and physician relations, patient safety, and quality measures. LaShannon is regarded as a thought leader regarding access to quality healthcare services for vulnerable populations. LaShannon has been described as forward thinker, out of the box strategist for engaging clinicians, patients and community partners to address factors that hinder communities who continue to face difficulties to access quality healthcare services. These factors often influence social determinants of health which contributes to healthcare disparities.
